A personal note from the donor: 

I have been wargaming since 1980, playing Warhammer since 1983, so 45 years of playing wargames has taught me a lot, and I've seen the hobby change a lot over that time. I've even seen some of you grow up and start the hobby!

I've donated Warlords, Bolt Action Starter Set because I'm at a point in my hobby where I need something different and I hope this Set gives someone else the opportunity to try a new game too.

My neurodivergence is both anxiety and ADHD. This can be a double whammy, because the anxiety will make me anxious to get things right and my ADHD will give me waaaay too many ways to do so.

Sometimes ADHD works for me, I am an Idea Machine, other times it works against me ... I can be painfully slow to deploy due to all the combinations and possible outcomes my anxiety and ADHD are making me aware of.

One thing I'm sure of though is how The Hobby, our hobby, has helped me through tough times.

Unwanted thoughts have been distracted away by the depth of hobby that you can think about instead.

Excess creative energy and a habit of wanting to try new things? ... no problem, the hobby as an endless scope to select from.

45 happy years.

The hobby will continue to change over the next 45 years as well ... no matter what though, these wisdoms will serve you well.

Don't be in the hobby for Followers.

There's nothing wrong with how you do your hobby.

There's nothing wrong with how anyone else does their hobby.

Find a way towards it not mattering if you lose, while trying not to lose.

Taking a break is good, stop playing for a while and just paint. Change your game title entirely, etc. Keep ot being fun, or don't keep doing it.

Look after yourself and those that you cafe for.
